There’s something about a morning cup of coffee that makes the rest of the day feel right. Suddenly, getting the kids ready for school, dealing with rush hour traffic, or even taking that exam becomes a little bit easier.

A welcoming place to grab that cup is The Palm Coffee Bar in Burbank. Located near The Mystic Museum and the Hollywood Book & Poster, the café makes exceptional coffee using organic, non-GMO and Fair Trade ingredients.

Though The Palm Coffee Bar doesn’t have a large seating area, the small space and numerous scattered house plants provide an intimate feeling of sitting among friends. And the warmth of the pink and brown color scheme gives customers a sense of uplifting coziness.

The menu has many options to satisfy a variety of tastes, from those who enjoy a cappuccino with masterfully poured designs on the top of their cup, to those who prefer a simple, hot cup of tea.

Established in 2017, this chic café attracts the younger crowd to take pictures of their colorful specialty drinks and artisanal pastries from SUGARBLOOM Bakery. On their website, The Palm Coffee Bar boasts that they are an LGBTQ+ friendly, woman-owned small business that carries vegan and gluten-free options, so everyone feels welcome.

The Cinnamon Toast Crunch specialty coffee is a little more on the bitter side, which makes it a good pair to one of the sweet pastries on the menu. Even without a pastry, the cinnamon is aromatic, which elevates the coffee flavor while the oat milk downplays the bitterness.

The perfect item to have along with the coffee is the Gluten Free Double Chocolate Donut. This donut is bound to be a favorite among children for its great amounts of chocolate. The flavors of the coffee and cinnamon enhance the taste of the light fluffy donut smothered in rich chocolate glaze, which has a good amount of sweetness.

The Strawberry Almond Croissant is a pastry for those with less of a sweet tooth. The pastry is slightly salty to offset the candied taste of the strawberry jam and the sprinkled powdered sugar on top. The almonds add a nice crunchy texture to the flaky pastry and syrupy jam. The loveliest part of the croissant is how the flavors come together to create a balance of subtle sweetness to be paired with tea and coffee or enjoyed on its own.

The Ham and Cheese Croissant is rare in how the pastry is artistically wrapped around a bed of melted cheese and a rosette of ham, creating a beautiful display of colors. On top of the croissant sits a cornichon pickle and a slice of Swiss cheese skewered through a toothpick. The pickle is sour and crisp, which goes well with the mild cheese and buttery pastry.

As you’re going through the motions of life, having a choice cup of coffee or a snack can help you destress and wind down for a moment, and The Palm Coffee Bar will be waiting for you.
