Getting to know my face

Alright so finally after waiting and much preparation later, I had my interview with Emelyne! I didn’t notice how nervous I was until we began the interview and I found myself using ummm a lot. Not to worry I did correct myself and managed to moved past my shyness.
Kristine and I set out on campus to meet Emelyne at the ASO and decided that it would be too noisy to attempt recording there. So we headed up to the library to try and get a room where there would be silence.
We get the room without any wait or trouble. Once inside and after we’re settled in we began by taking a couple profile pictures. Then we get right into it, the interview had begun.
Emelyne told me about her childhood and how growing up was a bit tough. She mentioned the LPA (little people of America) and how they’ve helped her gain confidence and were there for her when she went through hard times accepting herself.
The longer the interview went, the more I learned about Emelyne.
Now I don’t want to give too much of my story away so I’m saving the best for last. But I will leave you the readers with this: there are over 200 different types and known cases of dwarfism. Emelyne has achondroplasia, she the only little person in her family. Goes to show how spontaneous the mutation can be and how just about anyone can be affected or born with this mutation.
Till next time, I am currently working on transcribing the interview. I look forward to keeping you all posted on how the story turns out!
Ana signing out, thanks for stopping by!
