Drive up Ventura Boulevard, above Topanga Canyon Boulevard, and you will see a line on the right, from the front door of Bobby’s to the parking lot. As you inch forward, you get an occasional whiff of bacon frying on a grill.
Don’t be in shock when no one greets you at the door. It is a “seat yourself” café; so don’t knock anyone over when snagging a spot.
Bobby’s has an old-school diner feel to it. Everything is a bit old, including the mismatched chairs, the counter right next to the griddle, the old diner paraphernalia, and the antique posters on the wall. It is a one-room hole in the wall that is loud. Not a place to carry on deep, meaningful conversation.
Where the service is slightly lacking, the coffee server is a dream come true.
The diner features a simple, easy homemade breakfast. The Ranch Breakfast Special $9.19, Eggs & Omelets $5.99 -$8.99, French Toast $5.99, Steak and Eggs $12.99 are the main features on the menu.
The two pancake breakfast is very filling, a fluffy not stuffy delight at $4.99 -$5.99.
Greasy and delicious is what they do best. You don’t come here for oatmeal and fruit salad. If you are craving a naughty breakfast, or are hung-over, Bobby’s is your place!
