If done well, surveys of large groups tell a meaningful story such as how a class of people is viewed by society. This week, I began to craft such a survey.
I pilot tested an approach, sample questions and discovered technology bugs over the span of two days last week. The responses I received were surprising and beg for further development.
The technology failed, however. Using a small tablet to enter data was cumbersome and interupted the flow of the conversation several times. I also neglected to record the responses as in the past and may have lost data.
Within the next week, the survey questions will be finalized, the technology hopefully figured out and I can get to the business of pulling opinions from students, professionals and patrons about the subjects.
I’m hopeful developing and soliciting for this survey will add value to my article. It will certainly add to my understanding.
