Writer wants ‘breakthrough’ with article

His jacket opened as he told me of his ideas. His hair was pushed down and then slicked back in a wave. This style seemed very “Steve-ish,” His mind seemed attentive but drifted to the world around as he began pitching his idea.

Raymond Chavez Rodriguez, 18, was born in Northridge and resides currently in Winnetka.

“I wanna see if there’s something more, something else they can do,” says Rodriguez.

A friend of Raymond’s has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and was told he would not need medicine; instead, he was given a therapist who yelled at him.

“This cooled him down made him better,” said Rodriguez.

Raymond feels he is in a search for medicine that is outside the aspect of modern science.

“If ADHD is genetic how do people originally get it? There has to be a origin,” Rodriguez said.

According to psychcentral.com, medication related to ADHD causes harsh side effects. This includes, but is not limited to: loss of appetite, mood swings and sleep depredation.

Rodriguez is trying to make people more aware by discovering where this comes from.

“I am making a scientific breakthrough,” said Rodriguez.

Medication is going to be easy to find in this writer’s journey for The Bull. What he’s going to have trouble with is finding someone who is off their meds and is willing to talk.

Another obstacle in the way is finding the “right picture,” he says. This is part of the challenge.
