One of these restaurants is LYFE kitchen in Tarzana at Village Walk.

LYFE kitchen, which stands for Love Your Food Every day, promises using local and sustainable ingredients.

The menus are divided into categories: vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and regular. The food can be ordered at the counter from a rack of menus, but waiters bring the order to the tables.

The menu contains a variety of starters, salads and soups along with flat breads, sandwiches and burgers.

All choices are 600 calories or less. The waiters have to study GMO, vegan, Gluten free, and grass feed options before they start to work at LYFE kitchen.

The restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The prices are very reasonable. $5 for the Cheesy Flatbread with a maximum of 381 calories and moderate sodium is a tasty and healthy alternative to pizza. Ordering a bowl of sweet corn chowder made with cashew cream for five bucks is a good choice if you don’t have a big appetite.  The highlight of a Sunday lunch with family or friends or even alone can be a dish of roasted salmon, tomato and fennel. The fish is not greasy and is not over cooked. This is worth the $15 price tag. The pan-steamed fennel is crunchy and delicious with only 549 Calories. The cucumber mint beverage, a mixture of fresh cucumber, fresh mint, lime, agave and chia seed. Desserts have no sugar on them.

The cozy atmosphere, comfortable furniture and free Wi-Fi makes this place a good opportunity for eating and studying, a relaxing stop between two classes.

When leaving the LYFE kitchen don’t forget to stand at herb garden and smell the fresh herbs. Test them and think of a miniature of hanging garden in Babylon.
