Food review: German Cold Cuts INC

Hidden on a strip mall between a Verizon store and a car audio installation shop is where German Cold Cuts, INC lies.

While walking up to the door you will find on the outside patio a couple of plastic chairs and tables where you can eat. Behind the windows are another set of chairs and tables and beyond that are imported goods from the “fatherland.”

You can find newspapers and magazines in German to your right and beer glasses on the left on a cabinet on the wall. In the beginning of the main isle following that is imported German chocolates.

German Cold Cuts, INC. sells fresh European sausage, imported cheese, beer, wine, and offers catering gourmet food from Europe.

It’s classic deli fare, including a hot bratwurst sandwich on a roll with dijon mustard and sauerkraut, with a side of German potato salad.

The combinations of all the flavors make the sandwich. There’s just the right amount of mustard to the sandwich. It isn’t overpowering and doesn’t mask the taste of the bratwurst and sauerkraut.

The German potato salad is different to the American version. The cut of the potato’s are not chunked. Also, it has a sweet pickle taste, just like the pickle that was served on the side of the sandwich.

German Cold Cuts, INC. is interesting and unique and has character with the German landscape painting hanging on the walls with aisles of German treats. Over all, it’s a nice cozy, place to sit down and eat.
